I'm moving up that way this Summer and was wondering if anyone on the Board lives up that way?
Anyone hunt D7 or D6 zones...advice needed since I will be very new to that area.
Thanks,
MJW

Michael, I can tell you that D6 is probably the heaviest hunted zone in CA. D6 is a "battle zone", which I won't hunt anymore. WAy too many hunters. Don't know about D7. Hopefully its a little better.
Good luck.

When I was up there house hunting I saw and jumped quite a few deer and saw lots of sign that they are around. So even thought it is a heavily hunted area I am hopeful.
Does anyone know why I didn't get an email telling me that someone responded to this thread??? I just happened to be here and saw that there was a response.
Thanks for the info Hk45USP....

I got a D7 tag this year. Having grown up in the D5 zone I knew that D6 had a lot of hunters but I am hoping that D7 will be a good place to hunt.
Info Anyone???

hey michael,
me and my 3 buddies camped at shuteye peak and hunted back down the road about a mile, dropped off the side of the road about 1/4 mile down. TONS of tracks and trails, got run over by 3 does when i fell asleep! jumped another 6 or 7 when still hunting~the cover's favorable to the deer, as they can see you coming from a ways under the canopy which tends to be pretty wide open up that high. If you're patient and they're up and mobile, you should see 'em. Good luck!
oh, sorry, that's in D7
