Looking for public land or private land with owner permission to coyote and/or hog hunt in Northern California (Sacramento area).

If you're going north of Sac, you should be able to find a lot of public land for coyote hunting. They're pretty much everywhere. For hogs on public land north of Sacramento, maybe check Colusa, Glenn, Humboldt and Tehama. Most of the good hunting land will be private though. The best pig hunting in CA though is south of Sac in Central CA. Most of the good land in private but you can still find some public land to hunt pigs. What you need to find is a rancher who doesn't lease his ranch to an outfitter or guide and who wants the pigs gone from his/her ranch. If you find that, you're set. Keep that rancher happy.

I haven't had much luck hunting pigs on public land. Private land with a guide is great but it's getting pricey.
