Hey all, a friend and I have been talking about going out to WY for antelope. Neither of us know what the hell we are doing so we figured we would just buy Doe tags so we can learn while saving up some preference points maybe make a real go of it in a couple years.
I'm kinda confused on the 1/2 mile of irrigated land rule, this would basically require hunting private ground correct?
Looking at Chap 5 showing the seasons and quotas I'm seeing 98 and 99 have a large number of doe tags without the 1/2 mile rule and. 98 has a good amount of public land (I haven't seen a map yet though to make sure it's not all spotty though)
Let me know what you think

I can't help you out with the 1/2 mile irrigated land thing. I do all my speed goat hunting over by Farson and that area is almost all BLM ground where I go.
You've got a pretty good plan with the does though. I do the same thing. I put in for preference points until I can get a good buck tag and get the reduced price doe/fawn tags until I can. For less than $100 you can have 2 doe tags in your pocket.
