Gila Wilderness Unit 16B
 

This will be my first elk hunt and first trip to NM. We have drawn tags for the Gila Wilderness, Unit 16 B. My dad, grandfather, and I are all extremely excited. I have got some great feedback from this site thus far. I am interested if anyone has hunted this unit/neighboring units and if anyone can provide some tips for hunting this unit. Thanks for all of your help and good luck to everyone this fall.

16b is a rough area you will need to get back about 7 miles to get into the big ones. Are you doing this by yourself or a guided hunt.
