I would like some tips if anyone could help. I hunted last year outside of meeker by bufford point and sleepy cat. We were not on a guided hunt and we were on foot. we are going to be o horseback this year to cover more ground. Last year we seen 3 elk (2 cows and 1 bull) and 1 was shot (the bull 5x6). We seen plenty of doe muleys and a coupe bucks so we are going to split our tags up between both sexes so we can get one or the other this year. I was wanting to know how much luck people have had hunting 3rd season in that area. I know alot of it depends on weather but I just wanted to see how much luck people have had that time of year. Any tips and information would be great. Thanks

The area is a good area but can be tough with some big ranches around there. The deer hunting is great and you should think about applying for one. last year was tough year. The DOW reported very low numbers for elk.
