Hmmm.... seems to me it would cause a stir if I walked around with an 11in knife on my belt! What about my pocket knife, is that considered a "concealed weapon"?

well if im not mistaken i think the law say's anything (more) than 3 inch folding pocket knife is illeagal, that is in your pocket, and anything more than the 3 inch must be in plain sight an your belt ,but hey dont quote me that im not realy shure , ok sea yas <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

J-HUNTER, I guess my first question would be why would you need to carry your k-bar? most every body I know carries a pocket knife, mines a gerber easy out that clips into my jean pocket, laws are tricky here , last time I checked it was a felony to carry a concealed knife of over 3 inches, but only a misdemenor to carry a loaded handgun , go figure ! anyhow I live near San Diego and if I can help in any way let me know, Bill Goodson

I wasn't wanting to carry it everywhere, but I want it in the car, and I wanted to be able bring with me from the car to the hotel room without causing a stir. But now I don't really care about that. Is the knife measured from tip of the blade to the base of the blade, or is the cutting sufface measure. If I do it the first way, then my pocket knife is just under 3 in. If I do it the second way it's just over. Thanks for all your help.

J-Hunter,unless you're a rowdy looking for trouble don't worry about your pocket knife or bringing your k-bar into a hotel room, chances are no one will ever question you about the k-bar.I own a motel in Oceanside Ca. near San Diego and travel a lot, I would'nt consider not having some sort of protection with me at all times wherever I am ,
