Default Addicted to hunting out West

I have been out West hunting for the past 2 years and I can't get enough of it. I went 2 years ago for antalope (guided)and last year mulies (unguided) I got my lope but missed my mulie. This year unfoutunatly I couldn't afford the Wyo tag. I used my points last year and when looking at the public region I hunt with out point I had little or no chance of drawing a deer tag unless I buy the "special" non res deer tag. I couldn't afford it this year and the deadline has already past.
Does anyone know of a state that has over the counter mule deer licenses? I am going to be hunting unguided on public land. I also like to get of the road a bit and don't mind camping if need be.Iwas looking into Texas but are there others?

Idaho and Colorado have OTC tags available in some areas.

Idaho is the whole state. I hunt there and have had great success.

There are no OTC deer tags in Colorado. It's draw only. There are elk tags that are OTC. CB

I too started to hunt out west 2 years ago. We hunted for elk and IMO they are the most fun of any big game animal I have hunted for. Planning another trip again this year on another DIY Colorado hunt. The OTC bull tags are the way to go in my opinion. Colorado has lots of pub land and a ton of elk.

I may do Co Bow Elk as a backup trip if I don't draw for NM. Won't know till June 8! Haven't decided if I would do Co. DYI or try to book an outfitter in June?

What do you think?
