RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
My mom and I almost always hunt black powder for Elk near Mt St Helens. This year I think we are moving to Forks on the Olympic Pennensula. My friend cuts brush out there and he keeps comming up on a heard of about 30 on a road he is working on.

RE: ANYBODY FROM WASHINGTON STILL AROUND???
My son and I just returned from two days of scouting in the mountains just south of Glacier Peak. No elk in this area but we did come across a Cinnamon Black Bear. Probably in the 400+ lb range. He was about 3' at the shoulders on all four. Armed with only hand guns for personal protection, we decided that he had too big of an advantage. In about a month when Bear season opens, I believe I'll be taking my 45/70 for a little R & R.
