I've just been blessed an opportunity to accompany a friend of mine on a Muzz elk hunt in unit 76...I don't have a tag, but I'd go along as a companion, cook, meat packer, camp b****, etc. and have the opportunity to enjoy the mountains for 8 or 10 days...
Here's my question.. I'd like to carry a holstered handgun while hiking, packing, fishing, or whatever...
Are there any restrictions in CO that would prevent me from doing that..??..

Nope. You can carry a sidearm all you want without being harrassed. Asked that question to a ranger some weeks back and he said it was ok. If you see a bear or something, dont pop a cap in it unless its coming after you.

You better re read the regs I believe a person without a tag for that season cannot carry a gun bigger then 22 caliber during big game season. Wouldn't want to get pinched.
