Need tips for hunting quail in New Mexico
I am planning a trip this fall to hunt quail in New Mexico. I was hoping to harvest four different species in on trip, Bobwhite, Scaled, Mearn's and Gambel's.
I have just started my research on public hunting places. Right now I am planning on just heading to Artesia and start from there. I have been disapointed that New Mexico has not published their dates for the seasons yet.
Any tips are welcomed.

Your best bet for quail is in the southern part of the state. Bobwhites are on the eastern side. Mearns down by the bootheel, for the most part. Scaled are scattered around the Rio Grande Valley as are the the Gambels; slightly different terrain differences between the two.
BTW, the regulations on are online at the Game and Fish web site.
