SILVERTIP-CO, I hunted 681 for a few years. Pretty good deer unit and a lousy wapiti unit. Currently, I think it takes a few points to draw a buck tag. If you decide on hunting it, PM me and I'll be happy to share some info with you.

I used to hunt what would be the southern part of 681 many years ago. I hang out in unit 68 now and have for 30 years or so.

Something kind of odd I noticed in this years bulletin....If you get a buck tag, it is good in 68, 681 and 682 for both seasons.

If you draw an either sex elk tag in 68, it is good for 68 and 681 (13-17 OCT)

If you draw a cow tag in 68, it is also good for 682 (20-28 OCT, 3-9 NOV, and 14-18 NOV)

If you draw a late cow tag, it is also good for 682 (1-31 DEC)

FWIW, I think 68 is better for elk...maybe 682, if you can find a rancher who will let you on private land.

Just a guess...are you buying land near Bonanza?
