Wayne, I'm glad you got some more nannies off your place. Lord knows you needed to. The rut should be even better for you this year. You need to make sure Diane has that big bucked staked out before season opens in November. She needs to put that one on the wall this year. Mayo and I are planning an elktrip to Idaho next fall, so I don't know if we'll be able to swing over to help cull a few more next year for ya. We are hoping to get overthat way for a turkey sometimein April though.Right now we are working to get as many calls made for the NWTF National Convention this Februaryas we can. We've added a few more varieties of wood since we talked last, and man are they sweet. But I'm biased. Now we need some a pro staffer to test 'em, so we'd like our numero uno pro staffer to give 'em a try. We'll be in touch before season.:D

The last 2 week's of fall Turkey they took 7 off of here....but we never even had to use a call.. Got to take the dog's out for about an hour yesterday...got 4 Quail and a Pheasent:DHere's a pic of one of the view on my place during a still hunt..

I bagged a little 2 pt. on Saturday. It's body was very large for the size of his horns. Just made a hunt through a patch of timber. Killed him 150 ft. off the logging road. Watch several trucks drive right by as I was hunting too. Just goes to show me that sometimes you can't find 'em all in the clear cuts. Here is pic of my cousin and I with the buck. I'm on the right.

I spent the last week in the Okanogan. It was pretty slow this year, just needed the weather. Out of the 5 of us we only ended up with one deer, a 20" 3x4 on the last day. I saw 3 nice bucks but just could'nt get a shot. The best one was one I spotted bedded at about 325 yards. Just couldnt get the shot before he spotted another hunter coming up the draw and jumped up and bounced up the hill. It was pretty open country so I tryed to keep up and watch him to see where he would hunker down but he found a doe he was fond of and after 2 hours I watched her lead him to within 50 feet of that only other hunter on the mountain. So from 1000 yards away I got to see him shoot it 3 times in the butt at close range. It turned out to be a 5x7 about 26" wide. That's huntin though, ya win some ya loose some. I did like it better a couple years ago when I was on the other side of that equation though.

Just returned from two weeks just on the east side of Stevens Pass. Weather was great if you wanted a sun tan. Didn't get good weather till the middle of last week. Saw a bunch, but nothing legal (3pt or better).

Skunked, and besides that, some jerk stole my chainsaw, axe and hatchet out of camp.

There's always next year. (Note to self, lock up the chainsaw)

Well the geral season is over and I got skunked to. The worst thing about it! I couldn't even fill a doe tag [:@]. Theres late buck and the weather should be more on my side. Congrats to all that filled their tag. For those who didn't, we still have the late buck in WA.
