Hi, I am looking for land to hunt dove on here in Colorado. I am not looking to spend a fortune to shoot a couple of birds. I am willing to trade gun work for tresspass fee for myself and 1 or two other hunters of good quality hunting property.

I had this problem for the first two years I was here. Unfortunatly all the wildlife areas that were suggested to me were packed, almost scary with all the shooters around, no place I would take a young hunter. I joined a hunt club that I had been using last year and became friends with the owner. He invited me dove hunting last year. AWESOME HUNTING. The first morning there was 11 of us that lined up along a fence line and everybody had their limit in 45 minutes 2 days in a row. He was planning on getting a outfitters license this year and last I talked to him it was in the works. I don't know how much he will be charging but I can find out. For public areas all I can do is suggest where the majority of doves seem to be in Colorado. Far eastern part of the state, say from Yumaeast tostate line south to state line. I have not hunted public areas in this area, but the birds almost certanly have to be in there sometime or another. Plus I have found it is very uncrowded that far east, but there are few public areas espeacialy the further south you go, but they do exsist. Most public areas the majority of the birds are chased out of the area by the first weekend. I have also heard good things about Pueblo reservoir state park, never been there but have read it can fairly decent, have to watch out for rattlers though. Good luck.
