Anyone in SoCal take a deer yet with a bow? I've been in the woods at least once a week since the opener on Sept 7th and have yet to see something bigger then a spike buck.

Yeah I hunt down here in L.A. County......but not with a bow. I got a deer in the San Gabrials last 3 years in a row. But it looks like with the big fire 2 weeks ago, coupled with the big one that started today, deer hunting is gonna suck.
I was going to buy a tag for the area this week, but I don't know if I'll be wasting my time due to the fires.
Next week, Im going up to Tuolome (spelling?) county with my game warden buddy to hunt the opener up there. I'll be up there for 1 week of deer hunting. I can't wait.
Where do you hunt here in so.cal?

HK45USP,
I hunt the local mtns here in San Diego. The mountains I spend the majority of my time is the Laguna's. It's a bow only area, which helps a little. We had a decent sized fire to the east of these mountains, which pushed some deer over, but then you have to deal with the guys coming over to hunt from the burn area.

I have taken a fork and missed a big boy already this season,
we have seen lots of deer, I have seen at least one legal buck on just about every trip this year.
