LOL.....its only a matter of what you put the time in and shoot guys....lets not play games and call names!!!! I can do some crazy shooting with a pump on some clays .....but I am used to how they handle and it fits me....that is all it is!!!

I have used both, but prefer autos. For Quail 2-3/4" Field, Duck 2-3/4"EXP, Turkey 3",
Geese 3-1/2"..

i will be usein the shotty for duck and dove/quail.. and squirel/rabbits so it has to be a good all round gun. i am thinking of just gettin the one without the camo (save 200) and gettin the gun done at the shop local with pattern of my choice for $120.

Chokes i am a NOOB that know JAK about chokes. I have a 1100 2-3/4 with what ever they come with vent rib choke or something. what chokes would i need to hunt the above mentioned game or would one choke work for all?

Good question- If you took out the 3.5" and was a 3" I would say Auto. But if it has to be a 3.5" then my vote is pump. Oh yes, Benelli in both actions !!!

I have always used full choke for all different types of hunting but since we had to use steel shot it’s modified now, and I wouldn’t have any problem hunting all the game you mentioned. You just have to judge your distance before pulling the trigger. As for the type of action, I had used Remington 870 pump action with out any problems but now it’s my Beretta semi auto and I’ve never looked back.

I have 2 older 1100'S 1 is 2 3/4 " and 1 is 3" both are fixed chokes, I also have an SP 10 (10 gauge auto) and a Winchester super X2 3 1/2". as well as 3" Browning and Mossberg. I am fortunate that over the years I have been able to keep my guns and add to them but for your question I would take the old 3" 1100 with the fixed full choke any day as my number 1, I bought mine new in 1983 and I have taken exceptional care of it, I remember when it came out it was the "hot lick". It is just my turkey gun now I have patterened it against my Winchester 3 1/2 and it consistantly puts more shot in the kill zone, I have grown partial to my 1100 that is why I picked up the winchester for waterfowl hunting I have hunted it under tough conditions for 5 years now and I have watched guys curse their Benelli's and Beretta's I squirt a little silicone spray on the action before I go hunting and she keeps whackin em. Well this is just my experiences and thoughts Have you ever heard the old saying about buying a car made on Wednesday maybe I have just been fortunate to get my guns that were made on Wednesday? Well give that old 1100 a chance especially if it is a Full Choke.

for waterfowl i use an OVER AND UNDER, call me crazy but i shoot a lot of ducks...and i like my browning Citori....

I own one auto and the rest are pumps.

I like my pumps. Me and most other guys I know that have pumps, can shoot just as fast as the guys with autos, but we end up having less gun jams.

People who can't hit what they're shooting at and are slow...need autos. ;)

Kyle, no I’m not going to call you crazy, that Citori is very nice gun and excellent for hunting duck. I sure wish I still had mine.

The Best use I have found for a pump is an OAR I keep one in the boat just in case the motor breaks down! Oh they make good anchors too! Just kidding my circle of friends all use auto's it just what works for us. But I would have a shoot off anyday. Last day of the season last year I shot a triple on Widgeons in the timber and I know I wouldn't have done it with a pump. Good Hunting
