Let's compare. But I think, hunters are different, as well as in all countries, there are not dear people.
I can not translate a word "mallards" and "greenheads". If there is a speech about versions of the goose at us three live. "Whiteforehead", the "grey" goose and "gumennic". The shown duck on a photo belongs to family "kriakovih".
In the spring hunting only on a drake is allowed.

Dear! I badly understand about what there is a speech. It not a bog. It is flood of thawed snow.
Hunts not dangerously. Though, to visitors it can be dangerous....

we call your "kriakovih" a mallard here. we are also usually limited to shooting the male of the species (we call them greenheads). they have a green head.

Hunting for a duck in Russia has two seasons.
Spring in middle of April. Ornithologists determine exact date.
Hunting is conducted only on drakes with use of a "stool pigeon".
The spring season not long makes about 2 weeks.
In different areas terms of hunting different.
The autumn season begins at the end of August and some months last.

Interesting that somthing as simple as duck hunting can bring totally different worlds together.
