Deke Question
I have heard of people painting pop bottles colours to look like ducks just to make their spread look bigger. Good idea or not???

RE: Deke Question
I have heard it worked. Never tried it myself.

RE: Deke Question
Did it when I was low on money early on-granted I am no Michealangelo but it worked okay for me.

RE: Deke Question
Hell, just break down and buy some cheap Flams. They've been working real good for me for the last 4 years and haven't had any paint trouble yet.

ORIGINAL: plainsman Hell, just break down and buy some cheap Flams. If you can find some old beaters just paint em black, and mix into your spread, they'll stand out from a distance. Your idea will work better if you mix them with some decoys. |
RE: Deke Question
I too would go with cheap decoys instead. One thing you could try is weight one of the ends of a pop bottle and make it look like a feeder.

RE: Deke Question
Thanks for the help. I'll try to find some cheapies but if I can't I'll go with the pop bottle idea. I already have a dozen dekes, just trying to beef up my spread a little.

RE: Deke Question
i have heard of it workin. ive personally never tried it but if i was hard up for money you can bet id be collectin coke bottles

RE: Deke Question
We used to do it when i was in high school, it works great in the timber for a primary decoy (it takes very little wind to move them) Open water if you are using large spreads (ex: 8-10 dz) it doesnt hurt to paint them black and maybe one or two white for an attractor.
