KENT shotgun shells
#2
I use Kent for ducks and geese and am extremely happy with the performance. I have used Impact #1 for geese and Fasteel for ducks and geese. All I have used are 3.5", but i feel that the shorter stuff would be good too.

I have had reliability issues with Kent 3 1/2"s. I attribute it to poor crimps. Out of one box of shells every crimp was different. Some were round, some were octagon shaped with sharp corners, some were actually flared. All in all they were sorry looking crimps. I like a crimp that is perfectly round and smooth. May be more forgiving in a pump but I could not recommend for an auto.
This may have been an isolated case but I can't trust them now.

I have used Kent fast steel for several years and love it. In the 2 3/4 " gun try Kent Impact 1 on geese you may quit using the 3.5" gun.

I've never used Kent's but one of the fellows that hunts with us does, and had been through 4 cases of 'em over a few years and was happy, until last year. He had a base separate from the hull, weird deal just the Brass base sitting in his gun after he shot...I haven't seen that in quite a few years (since I was a kid in fact)...used to be fairly common (at least more than now), but it really unnerved him...still that's only 1 in 1000, so I wouldn't let it bother me that much.
