RE: What is your favorite part of the hunt??

I don't really know it's a toss up between putting out the dekes ,I love that, or like Rick said just before it's to early to shoot standing in the marsh listening to all the sounds especially hearing birds come in to your dekes or circle overhead with that distinct whistling of their wings. two month two months two months not soon enough.

Well with ducks it is when in that pre-dawn light you are sitting there waiting for light and shooting hours and the birds start ripping by overhead making the air whoosh in the quiet of pre-dawn.

With geese the best part is when you have a flock commit and they start setting down in your spread the wind from their wings on your face and then.......TAKE EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's got to be the look in a mallard's eyes when you pop up from the blind and he knows he's been suckered.

A crisp morning, decoys set, cup of coffee in hand, mist falling lightly, fog lifting, call echoing off the water, whistling wings, and my 8 year old son shouting "I got one dad" can't be beat!
