Thanks and the pond has worked out well. I had it built 4 years ago. I built it where it is because I wanted a feed pond that was near the roost pond that I mentioned earlier. We hunt the roost pond some in the mornings, too, though not nearly as much as we used to. Now we just let the ducks rest peacefully each night, though we may hunt them one or two mornings each season. Here's a pic after a morning hunt in the roost pond a couple of years ago. There's a lot of flooded timber in the back of this pond that the ducks pour into each evening. The come in in the morning, too, but not as much as near sunset.

No teal, just wooducks. We get a few teal in each year, but I would say that as many as 95% of the ducks that come into my ponds are woodys.

Your Ponds look fantastic, over here in the U.K. i do most of my Wildfowling on the Foreshore, but i also have access to a Farm which i dug Three Ponds on, anyhow what im really wanting to know is what is a Wood Duck? is this a slang term for a Mallard, if not what colours are these ducks?

Those ponds could bring a tear to my eye,, NICE JOB!

Woodduck,, not a mallard,, small like a teal,, very erratic flyers. Love flooded woods and nest in the trees.

heres a link if it works
