Fritobandit, Im having the same problem i was leaning more to the Nova but the guys seem to like the 870 3 1/2 better. i think im going to take their advice.

870's are great guns,just gave mine to the grandson, got a 11-87 super mag SWEET gun.

Another vote for the 870, very good gun. Also, the new Benelli Nova is not too much more expensive and has some nice features. Check them both out, I know from experience the 870 is excellent and have heard good reports from Nova owners.

I own a Benelli Nova 26 inch barrel synthetic black. I have been using it for about a year now with no problems. This morning it was so cold I had ice on the barrel and it fired with no problems. I've put a lot of rounds through it dove hunting, duck hunting, and turkey hunting (well, patterning with turkey loads anyway seeing as I've yet to kill a turkey) and it has never jammed. More importantly, it shoots straight. It has some cool features such as an optional recoil reducer you can mount inside the stock and a button on the bottom of the gun that will let you pump out your chambered shell without chambering a new one (good if you wanted to quickly switch to a different type of shell or take out the shell to cross a fence, etc.). Around my parts (OK) you can find this gun for $299. Hard to beat for that price.

Yow57 watch out for that 11-87 i hear they are blowing up you should read this http://www.refugeforums.com/refuge/s...hreadid=179912 a guys kid almost got his hand blown off... be careful
