1st duck of the season!
Hello,
I shot my first duck of the season this morning. Heres what happened.
All I had was 8 goose silhouettes, a duck and goose call, a flag, and my 12 gauge. Thats all. I set up and was waiting for the geese to start flying. Out of nowhere, a single duck came towards my decoys, flying very low. I didnt call or flag or anything. I wasnt even in a blind. I got my gun out, and I fired a single shot To my surprise, I hit it and down it went! I ran over to get it. I identified it as a female Mallard. Where I am at, you can shoot 7 ducks in a day, but no more than two can be female Mallards.
So, in a nutshell, No call, no blind, no flagging, but I got a duck.
