Default Goslings!

I saw my first brood of goslings today, maybe a day or two old.

They're a little behind up here this Spring, as I haven't seen any yet.

Saw my first ones today. One pair only had two, while one pair had 4 or 5 with them and the third pair had 8 or 9. Last year I saw a pair that, if I remember right, had 14 little ones with them. I had no idea they would ever have that many in one clutch.

Top, sometimes a more aggressive goose will steal goslings from another goose. It is really aparrent when the little ones are different sizes.

I wondered if something like that could occur or if maybe the mother had hatched out a batch and a fox I see around there sometimes got her and maybe another one took over for her little ones. Anyway, it was sure a bunch, cute to see, and hard to count with that many little rascals running every which way!
