Question Hunting rice field ducks.

What does the novice to rice field duck hunting need to know?

What guns, dogs, dog training, loads, clothing, blinds (if used), decoys, techniques, calls, etc. ARE different than typical marsh duck hunting?

Will the Labrador Retriever work well for the rice fields?

Are there any good books for rice field duck hunting?

Take a trip to Arkansas and hunt with one of the guides there. You will learn all you need to know in a 3 day hunt. Then put it to work in your neck of the woods.
It beats a lot of trial and error.

I use the Timber Rattler and the Dirty Rice which are very useful in hunting. Before hunting I have done good practice of it. And now I can hunt from pit blinds in marshy areas, small bodies of water, and rice fields. Price is about $35 each.
