Good pump for water fowl

I need a nice pump for waterfowl. I was looking at supernova, my uncle has one and he uses it a a crowbar, a paddle, and fence post driver and it has held up really well. I was thinking the supernova or a Remington but I've heard that Remington's quality control has dropped a lot in the past couple years. Is this true? Thx

Remington 870 Supermagnum...just in case you wanna go chase some Geese too.

ps...43 years of shooting a 870..never had one in the shop,

Only last year - due to shoulder - did I switch to the 11-87...I still try to pump the thing a year later..LOL

Nothing wrong with an 870. The 870 Express model is not finished as nicely as a full price 870, but Remington builds a great pump shotgun.

Remington 870 or Mossberg 500.

Then "customize" to your needs.

I hunt with guys that have Supernovas and the 870's and don't think you could go wrong with either. You may want to check out winchester's Super X Pump (SXP) also. Check out as many as you can. There are alot of good pump guns in that price range.

You will be served well with the Nova or a 870 Wingmaster. The newer 870 Express are junk.

The Express does not have a beautiful finish but it is otherwise the same shotgun as the standard 870. They are not "junk".

The Express is built to a price point using cheaper materials and some have ruff chambers that need to be polished before the gun is made reliable. The Wingmaster is by far a better gun (ie materials inside and out) and can be had for $300- $450 on the used gunrack.
