Default Duck bands on Lanyards

This may be a pretty dumb question but how do you get the duck bands onto the landyard it its connected all the way around. Will the bands not break if you pry them open?

Most leg bands are made of aluminum. They'll bend a little if open them with pliers, but chances are that it won't close all nice and neat like it was on the birds leg. Be careful that you don't mash them up too badly re-clamping it around your lanyard.

They open nice if you use a screw driver and leather gloves to protect your hands and place it on a board to not press the screwdriver into you. To close it up, put a leather belt around it and use a pliers and press to close.
