Anyone notice that Ruddyduck has yet to tell us what kind of duck he thinks it is?


The man brags of identifying ducks in flight from a mile away yet doesn't seem to know what this one is.

Thanks for all the replies guys, it doesnt really matter now, I just posted because I couldnt decide which one to keep, to mount, that one or a really nice woody drake I also shot that day, but I wound up cleaning both of them, damn shoulda kept the woody. Aw well duck opens back up in a couple weeks Ill probably get another nice woody or I was thinking maybe a drake and hen pair of teal to mount.

That is a hen widgeon. If it was a drake the white patch on the wing would be a lot more prominent.

i disagree, because of the white patch starting to become clear on top of its head. Thats why we were saying its a not fully matured drake
