You posted a hen woodie and hen mallard so far. You have something against shooting drakes? Personally I pass on hens when ever possible.

I'm an equal opportunity hunter. Those two ducks were shot in a twenty minute period from legal shooting hours to the time I have to leave for work. If a drake had flown by with them, I would have shot him instead. Here, Duck hunting season is from Oct 2 - Nov 30, I hunt as much of that time span as possible (or as much as my bag limit allows). I posted them because I appreciate them and wanted others to be able to do the same. I also hoped that others may start posting their ducks as well, this is a forum which is much like a community. Thanks for the comment, keep the pictures coming.

Those aren't mergansers.

Thats kind of what i was thinking...

Schobs i would stop shooting those, because if i'm not mistaken those are Grebes... which are protected

I'm sure you truly thought those were mergansers, but now you know.

****I'm not 100% sure by those pictures but i'm about 90% sure they are grebes.
