Early season duck calling

Can anyone give me some input as to wether or not calling ducks in the early season has any positive benifit?
I have wood ducks,mallards, and black ducks here in New Jersey.

i havew better luck getting my calling to turn ducks in the early season than in the late season when birds are more weary so i say calling is a plus
