Carbon is dated as prehistoric if that helps further to make this thread unintelligable.

I don't think there's a need to be rude, the question is pretty obvious. The guy has an older shotgun not made to shoot steel, and he's wondering if there's an option other than bismuth.

Was that so hard?

I'm not familiar with the hardness rating of Hevi-Shot, have you checked that?

I dont see any reason why you couldnt shoot #2 out of a IC and #4 out of a mod not rated for steel. I shot #4steel in an old ithaca 51 fixed mod once. Didnt notice any damage.

hevi- shot classic doubles. Safe for any gun that is capable of shooting modern trap loads is what Hevi-shot told me.

There is a shot called NICE shot , sold by Balistic Products
If you reload lead or know a buddy that dose

You can use Nice Shot instead of the lead
You just have to use a load that runs less than 10K pressures
As the Nice shot raises the pressure about 1 K

Not real cheap
But it is suposed to be lots better than Bismuth

If you don't reload
Email Balistic Products
As I remember reading , someone is loading it for sale
