Default question for the duck guys.

every yera while im scoutinand turkey hunting i ahve this pair of ducks that annoy me. never can get a real good look at them but always thought it kind ok odd that they always sit in one of the biggest oak trees i have on my property. any idea what kind they are?

probably mergansers of some type. i have noticed they use the same tree cavity year in and year out while woodies switch alot.

To be honest I don't much about mergansers(so they could be). My guess would be wood ducks they'll make a sort of screeching sound when they take flight. The noise they make is hard to explain. Hopefully a fellow waterfowler can explain it better.

It could be a Cormorant. Check this out.

They are either Mergansers or Cormorants. I doubt they are wood ducks if they are way up high in the trees. I could be wrong though. Show us a pic.
