Can anyone point me in a direction for some training advice / info for my 4 mo old choc lab? I will check online, but I am sure you folks have great first hand experience. Thanks

The website www.ducks.org will give you some great exercises to start with.

How old is the dog, and what does it already know?

I used the book waterdog by Richard Wolters, workedwell.

What are you looking for in your dog?

I am located inNorth Carolina, if you are close, I can help if you need or want any. My lab would enjoy it.

Thanks everyone for all the great info. Cessna - all that I am looking for is basic obedience and retreiving skills. I am a big deer hunter & have just recently started getting into waterfowl hunting and it just so happened that we got a Lab this past summer (did not intentionally get the dog for hunting purposes). Huntnteen - she is only 4 months old and sit, stay & retreive the paper in the morning is all that she currently knows (still working hard on the house training!). Thanks again for all of your help!
