Hunting for geese in northern UT on my own. Snow just came in so it's time to head out. Still pretty new at this and wondering how many decoys I need to bring in Canadian geese and get a few. Terrain is a field by a marsh like area. Thanks.

Just watch the setup... and the wind...

I believe its all about the setup. You could be more successfull with 6 that are set up well than with 100 that are setup poorly.

How could you set up 6 decoys wrong? How could you set up 6 decoys right?
The only right or wrong thing you could do with 6 decoys is the wind, and hunter placement. The amount of decoys you use usually depends on the amount of hunting pressure. In high pressure areas, large numbers will work better, if you have good callers. In low pressure areas you can get away with anything. Edit- I should add, I've killed them with 50 dozen out, and I've killed them with as few as a dozen out. It all depends on the how new the geese are, and the amount of pressure.
