Default Early Season Canadas

Going for early season Canada's on Monday in IL. What are some methods to hunt them? This is my first time going in September, though I've been in winter, it seems like I should change tactics.

Find where they are feeding
I hunt Wheat stubble , hay feilds , chopped sweetcorn feilds ( the very best place )or freshly cut silage feilds

Put out a few decoys and flag them in

Put your decoys in groups of 3 - 7 , with some space between the groups
As this time of year they are still in family groups

Love those young of the year geese
Makes new hunters think they are Pro ' s in 1 hunt

We normally scout out all of the fields we can hunt them, throughout the mornings and evenings. Hunt the ones we see them in most often.

Well for the past week we have been watching two flocks and following where they went. We thought we had them patterned, but saturday they didn't show up and sunday they didn't show up again, and today they didn't show up! I hate when they just vanish like that! We did find a few doves, my buddy and I got thirteen today, since there were no geese to be found.

I know what you mean. The same thing here in Illinois, I think this hot weather messed everything up. this weekend should be better.
