Default Blue Wing teal are moving down

This AM I went to a local Waterfowl festival
It is held at a local marsh / refugerun by the ODNR

Driving down the road that splits the marsh

I saw about 12 Blue Wing teal buzz the road at Mack 2

Also Sat evening a freind saw 20 - 30 at another marsh

So even thoug it is suposted to be 81 for the goose opener Sept 1 and 86 for the first day of Teal season Sept 6

The birds , or at least som teal will be down to Ohio

John

I'm down in VA and we saw some in a not yet flooded impoundment yesterday.... bunch of teal and some local mallards. Don't know if they were blue or green.... but they were teal.

I usually don't have enough water this time of year to Teal hunt, but thanks to Gustav, I will be Teal hunting Sept. 13. I live in northeast LA. and we are getting nailed right now. It rained this evening at a rate of 2 inches per hour. There is a lot of flooding going on now. We probably got a couple inches yesterday and last night. When Gustav is finally out of here, we may have picked up over 10 to 12 inches of rain. Plenty of water now. Bring on the ducks!

We saw a pile of teal while goose hunting had around 30 land in the decoys and not pay any attention to us. A buddy hunting up the river was in a pile of woodies to bad season isn't here yet!

In my area the BW are moving south by the middle of August and most of them are adult drakes.
