So i thought i would do some geese hunting.
I do not have a dog but i have a boat.

Depending on the size of water you probably want to have the boat with you and maybe a few dekes but sounds like you have some good midday ambush hunting opportunities...

Set up on land make sure its legal buy half dozen floaters and sit and wait calling isnt that important but give it a try you will get better by trial and error and have fun its addicting.

Have you seen birds on it ? or atleast flying over it? hunting in the fields you need a little bit more decoys if price is an issue I would go with like 2 doz shells but if its really an issue you might get away with 1 doz. And no you dont need a layout blind we kill plenty of geese setting up in headrows which might be your best bet if there is one later in the season we lay in the decoys in the snow but you can set up in the woods just make sure the dekes arnt to close caus geese dont really prefer landing near woods. Id check this website for some gear great prices and customer service rogerssportinggoods.com any more questions just holler
