Default New Pump Gun

I'm in the market for a new pump gun. I'm kinda settled in between the 870 super mag and BPS 3.5. I know bothe guns are time tested... I've shot an 11-87 supermag for 7 yrs now and I'm finally tired of the jams with low powered shells and freezing up in cold weather. I'm a little weary of the remington due to all the problems i've had with my 11-87. New gun will be a workhorse. It'll get work in the dove field all the way to the coast for waterfowl.Whats some other remington and browning fans take on this? Thanks!

I have shot a 870 supermag for 9 years know and never a problem. Best duck gun out there. I have probally shot over 100 cases of shells through it with only maybe 5 jams and that was my fault. I use mine year around ducks, dove, turkey, anything. You can't go wrong with the 870. I have used mine for everything from a boat paddle to a walking stick and shovel.

I am a browning man and my workhorse is a Benelli Nova. That gun has been abused. When I was looking for a pump gun I was looking for an inexpensive reliable tool that I did not have keep my mind on while in the swamp. I just throw it over my shoulder and go. That thing was filled with swamp water on a couple of occassions this year. I tripped up in chest deep water and took a bath on one morning and buried that thing trying to catch myself. Just drained the water and duckweed out and kept shooting. You can tear the gun down completely in the field with no tools in 30 seconds.

I looked at the BPS but it did not fit me well and it cost more than I wanted to spend on a workhorse tool.

The 870 felt good and would have been a good choice, I just liked the feel of the nova and the way it comes apart for cleaning.

I use my browing for hunting doves.

I have both a 870 supermag and a nova. They are both great work horses. I would probably go with the nova. It's up to you both great guns. No dout about that!!

For the money I think you will have a hard time beating a 870 or the Super nova. I am a bit biased though I love both of my Super novas.

Benelli Nova. You can do anything go anywhere with it, with no worries. Takes a beating and keeps shooting with great accuracy. Thumbs up for the price too.
