My Dog went crabbing
#1
Thought you guys would like this...
Sat. Morning hunting in the head of a creek. We shot the first Merganser and Remi went and retrieved that at about 100 yards with no problem. Then some Bufflehead came in and we took down one. He was crippled and landed about 200 yards away. Right in between us and the bird was an orange crabpot bouy. The same color as his training dummys . I knew when I sent him that he had to go right in line with that bouy but was hoping that maybe that bird would continue to kick and flap so then remi would see that... No such luck. the bird never kicked so Remi swims right for the bouy grabs it and starts back to the boat. after about 10 feet that rope tightens up and snaps him backwards.... he looks over at me and I tell him "here" then he goes back for the bouy and trys his best to drag it in, to no avail. I had to give him a small nic with the e-collar and about 5 more here commands to get him to leave it alone. I couldn't blame him though. after all, I sent him on a retrieve and he was trying to bring back what he thought i wanted him to. I would have let him tug a little more but I didnt want him tied up in that line as he was 100 yards away or so. It gave us all a good laugh.... oh yeah then he got back to the boat and pees in the blind right beside me.... DOGS!!! Good Grief!!!

I have a boykin too. If yours has a personality like mine the peeing was his way of thanking you for sending him out for something that was anchored... in his mind. They're awesome little dogs.
