Default What size shot?

So im headin out tomorrow for my first mallard hunt in years. I use to always go with my dad and he bought the shells for me and i cant remember what size shot he use to buy. So just wondering what size you guys use for them. Oh and i have to use steel on waterfowl.

#3s if you can find them for sure. If not, #2s are pretty standard for steel.

If you opt for Hevi-Steel, I like #4s.

And for Hevi-Shot, I use #6s.

I use the #4 Hevi and I alwaysbringsome leftover #2's in case we get a batch of Canada's finest flying in.

Ok stupid question...where does T steel fit into all this? He's referenced it a few times but Ive never seen it or shot it.

T shot is HUGE! I keep some lying around for kill shots and wounded geese. I have never been able to pattern them very well.

T is for long distance. I'll use it for Snows sometimes on clear days where they may not commit. On a standard hunt, I use 3" BBs - big enough for geese and OK for ducks. If I'm targeting ducks alone and I know it's going to be a great day (scouting has shown the motherload in there day after day), I'll use #4's.

i useBB or #2 almost always usally always avilable and not overly expensive not too big for ducks and not to small for geese

Yeah T is really big shot. I think it goes something like 4's, 3's, 2's, BB, BBB, T, TT... not really knowledgable about the less common loads but I'm pretty sure it goes something like that.
