RE: What size shot?

ORIGINAL: SwampTHING

number 2's for all decoying waterfowl.. speed kills!

This is a good choice when shooting both ducks and geese. If I'm only shooting geese, I prefer BB's. If I'm only shooting ducks I prefer 4"s. Whenyou don't know if your next shot will be a duck or a goose,2's are perfect. However, the best shooter of waterfowl,I know, shoots 20 gauge 2's at all waterfowl and he smokes 'em better than most.

Edit-Speed does kill! I'd rather shoot 1550 fps 2's at geese, than shoot 1250 BB's at geese, anyday!

F is in there as well, DuckHuntin 247 - not sure if it's just larger or smaller than T's. I also haven't seen it in 10 years or so, maybe it's not made anymore.

i use #4 hevi shot for everything, hits hard and has lots of shot, unless we are sitting on small ponds where the shooting is guaranteed close then i use cheap #4 steel, but the hevi seems best of all, patterns great and hits very hard,

Just to be on record "F" is the next bigger than "TT" it fits in just under 4 buck , the t's and f are a Euro thing .
I like 3's early in factoriesand 1's or B's late in handloads ducksand geese . I hunt a strange lake though white wing scoters , wigeons , red head , mallards , 3teal , shovlers , honkers , snows , swans , white fronts , several mergansers , woodies, pintail on any given day .

Well, I shot alot of different loads last year so this year I started the season out with a mixed bag of 50 shells... At any given time I may be shooting 2's, 4's, BB's, OR BBB's in 3"... I guess it just adds to the surprise...
Surprise.... a BBB load
