RE: steel vs. hevi shot

PETA meeting? Whoa. Guess I touched a raw nerve there. Turn the other cheek or turn a blind eye - which is it? If steel "failed you at 15 yards when feathers fell like snow" then steel didn't fail you at all, you failed yourself. You shot behind the bird and shot off a lot of tail feathers - a common mistake. Steel works at appropriate ranges and you're not gonna make me feel bad about being concerned about the number of cripples left out there because there's way too many. Am I wrong about this? Bring it on. Seadog

You are right, and my appologies. What works for each person may be the same or different. I feel the same way about cripples. And you are probably right about my shooting behind that duck, I have done that a time or 2.
Please forgive my referencing you and PETA as being colleagues, I was unfair in my comment.
If it is any consolation, I had to wade apprximately 1/2 mile (round trip) to retrive the forementioned duck through flooded fields. I did get it. It was across a canal that was deeper than I had anticipated. I had to walk to the other end of the field, come back, pick up the duck and reverse the process.

I gotta stick with the Hevi-Shot boys. I hate the cost, but for the amount of shells that I shoot in a season I would rather spend the money and have what shoots good for me in my gun and that I feel most confident in. Heck, my confidence in the HS probably makes me knock down more birds.

You know, Opinions and Elbows. I have two.

LMAO!!!! @ caveman22

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
