Was looking at one of the online outdoor stores and 12 floater have an additional charge of $12.00, the shells/ fullbody's in 4/6 to abox have $6.00 per package additonal chargefor shipping. So I had to ask myself do the Guides/Outfitters buy direct or what. They could drive to the stores but who's to say they have 20 boxes andthey have to use a trailer. The pointless things I fill my mind with but now I need to know.

With all the decoys they have I am sure they buy decoys in the dozens at once and get discounts on shipping

It just takes money, it's one of those things if your serious you work to get the decoys. I have planned to take a part time job funding this project if need be, I have 2500 acres in prime goose and duck land here in Maryland that my club utilizes for deer hunting only, I do goose and duck hunt but I'm the only one. With the rising price of our land we need to increase revenue if we are to keep it and the club roster at 40 hunters and 200-400 a person, one plan is to allow day hunters and or outfit for geese/ducks. I have a considerable spread for my solo hunting,but will need to multiply if this plan is to become the cash cow that turkey shoots used to be. I have the cash to blow on the decoys and other equipmentbut 6.00-12.00 additional shipping per boxquickly bites into the budget. We shall see how this works out.

How's the goose hunting up your way? We might could work out an agreement. I live close to a bass pro, and BPS will ship free to their stores. You order the stuff to the Hampton, VAstore, I'll pick it up there, drive up there and deliver it to you in exchange for a waterfowl hunt or two for my girlfriend and I (she has never killed a goose, and the residents during our VA late season are being most uncooperative this year).

I was down your way 50 miles west of Richmond Friday at a farm I have access to, actually was the first time I hunted it andthe geese were more than happy to come close but they knew where the blinds were just outside range, plus the pond was frozen over. Told my friend where we need to setup nextime, he needs to get a laydown blind.I have no problem taking people hunting with me but resident goose season ends tomarrow. Snow'sare still open but has been bad here, it's better down your way in Pungo. If youdrop me a line September I'd be happy to put you on some geese.

Up here in manitoba we only need to run about 8-12 dozen to shoot out limits. I know down there u guys use an amazing amount. Some one said when they are hunting "running Traffic" they use up to 2500, thats huge. But i guess if it gets the job done.

Migrant canadageese are easy compaired to the resident's. Snow's are when you need the huge spreads, but they will come to Texas rags with some shell and full bodies in the landing zone. 8-12 dozen will get the job done though for the field. I have two different properties though and could set up in both with a little help, they are 10 or so miles apart. I will need floaters as well for the water hunting on the river.I get the job donefor my solo hunts with 2-3 dozen, they need to be replaced though, getting quite dated.So figure 24 dozen shell/full bodies and 8 dozen floaters.

Heck I only run 8-12 period. My boat would sink with half as many as some of y'all are using. Not to mention trying to keep it all in the boat with the dog bouncing around.
