Stick with what you are used to is the best advice I can give.
Although, a longer barrel won't blast you or your buddy in the blind as bad as a 24 will...sharper angle back to the left ear (if you are right handed) and that extra bit outside the blind can really make a difference.

I would personaly say that the 28 is the best for waterfowl and for distance for sure, if you are not interested in distance or if you do alot of walking in the woods you may want to shorten down on barrell length just to accomidate you..
