Got my first ever goose today
 

I went out once last year and had a great time, though none quite came into our setup (two sets almost committed). This time, we had some lookers, but one came down and I shot him. I loosed a feather or two, and we saw him glide down in the cut corn, but two later attempts to find him came up empty. Thinking he might have made it to the woodline, we made one last attempt to locate him, and I found him there in the cut corn. Man those things blend in well!

At 41 I'm a late starter, but am coming to the realization that no matter what kind of hunting I try, I have so much fun I can't wait to do it again! They aren't flying too much right now, but hopefully colder weather will get them up and going good soon.

Congrats on your first Goose!!! My Dad was about the same age when he shot his first. I shot a few this year BUT I did shoot my first Deer this year. So as they say there isfirst time for everything.

Congrats! I shot my first goose last year ay 26! You got me by a few years! Just watch out because now its game on, ever since last year I have fallen head over heals into goose hunting and love evry minute of it! Hoping my layout blind and my new decoys will be in soon! Good luck

I'm hooked for sure! I just followed up my other thread on "how many decoys" with an update about our hunt this morning. I have three in the freezer now, hence my new post "How to cook breasted geese."
