I like my Benelli Nova pump, it works great and it has never locked up on me once. I am jumping up to the semi auto Benelli M2 Field, I used one and I didn't want to put it down.

Think of it this way, in the right hands a pump can be deadly fast but it also can give you some time to think before you blow threw all your shells. Where the semi auto is click bang bang bang. I've tought myself to take some time before shots and its paid off. Its all in what feels best to you

Best for you would be my best answer. Pump is my choice. Although i'm looking into buying an O/U eventually because I have always wanted one

I started out with a pump Mossberg 500. It's a great gun. Then I bought a Mossberg 935 semi auto 12 guage. I LOOOOOVE this gun. The thing is so simple, it would be hard to mess it up so bad it won't shoot. Mine never jams, always cycles, etc. The last time I went hunting, I was walking to my blind and dropped the thing in the lake right down into a bunch of muck. The gun was FILLED with water and mud and crap. I had to "rinse" it out with lake water. I emptied the water out and hunted with the gun the rest of the day. It didn't miss a beat! Of course, when I got home, I cleaned her up really good. But if it will shoot flawlessly after dropping it into the lake, I'm sold.

I shoot an Ithica model 51 feather lite auto. It gets the job done but I would be much happier with a pump. They don't freeze up like an auto will. They tend to be more reliable.
