What duck call?

What duck call?
I would like to get a better call and have heard a lot of good stuff about Foiles calls and am thinking about a Straight Meat Mallard or Dead Meat Mallard. Does anyone on here have any experience with them and if so, what do you prefer, single or double reed? In what situations would you use a single reed or double reed and why?

I have a single reed SMM.Sounds great and blows pretty easy. I can get more sound than I want sometimes, so I blow a 30 year old Faulks when less is more. I love my Straight Meat Honker too. Jim

RE: What duck call?
I have a foiles smm single reed it sounds great. if you hunt fields or open water, the single reed is the best. but you can also get the smm in double reed, it softens it up a little bit. The double is better for timber. Ihave a set of both for the same call. If I'm hunting green timberI canput in the double orwhen Igo tostuttgart i'll put the single back in.It is a very versitilecall.

Foiles calls are great. My dad is on his field staff, and I have most of his calls. I just got the new dead meat mallard in a double reed and love it. I also have the timber rattler in a double and it is also good. It all comes down to what you like, but Foiles calls I think are the best.
