It is so nice of you to do that for your hubby, boy if I asked my wife to do that she would hit me with the bird. If your hubby wants the bird plucked then he should do it almost right after he shoots the bird. The feathers remove easier when the bird is still warm and while he is doing that he should field dress the bird also. If not do what Ed stated, breast the bird and do what you want. Grind it roast it grill it or cajun deep fry it. Enjoy

The goose should be gutted in the field, all internals should be removed well before he pulls into your driveway at the end of the day. If hes not willing to take care of the meat he shouldn't shoot it in the 1st place.
As for the feathers a plucked bird will make the nicest meal, but its an awfull lot of work and many people simply carve out the breast, but check your local regs, here in Ontario only taking the breast is considered wasting game meat and is illegal.

Well put TS,This was some time back when we started hunting geese.My hunting buds thought I was crazy when I brought out the picker to clean the bird of all the feathers, but when they tasted my roasted goose the were sold. They even fought over the leg and thigh. You put into words what I was thinking, gut they bird asap so not to taint the meat. Tasty-Tasty. You should try my Pekin Goose!
