My First!
#1
This morning was probably the beset one I've experienced so far. Went out for early season, not expecting a whole lot since we hadnt been seeing a whole lot of geese. The first flock we got to work came in and for some reason or another I only had 2 shells in my gun, so I only got 2 out of that flock. About an hour goes by and another flockof about 6 or 7comes and starts to work, and comes right in. My dad and I both come up shooting and he takes 3 and I shoot 1
. He goes to pick up his birds and tells me that the first ones banded, at first I was so surprised i didnt even believe him. Then I picked up his second goose and it was banded also. By this time im so excited to go pick up my goose, expecting it to be banded also, I run across the field and see his left leg sticking up with a band on it. First band ever. All the numbers on the bands were within 10 of each other. Cant wait to find out the ages and where they were banded.

Thanks guys, maybe I was a little vague, my first banded goose, not my first goose. If my first goose that I ever shot was banded I probably would have wet my pants! (I'm not that lucky.) By the way I'm hunting in Southeast Wisconsin. Called the band in, can't wait for my information!
