Went out and it was COLD I'm talking 25-30 degrees with a NW wind that was buckin at around 25 with gusts up to about 40. I got out maybe 1/2 hour before legal shooting time which was 0710 that day I got setup at about 0650 and once shooting time rolled around I could've been limited out in 10-15 minutes easy. But with all the birds moving I wanted to shoot as close to full color drakes as I could. I ended up having to stay until about 0900 but I got 2 big greenehads, 1 drake spooine and 1 beautiful drake Gad. All in all it was a good day and I wish I didn't have to work that night otherwise I would've gone out the next day also it would've been just as good but hey what do you do. I can't go out again until next wednesday now so hopfully I won't go through withdrawls.

Sounds like you had a good time, today I went out deer hunting(it was 25 degress too) by a small pond and I didn't see any deer, but in 15 min. of sitting I saw about 30 birds land and take off(10 were there when I walked in) but I know where I'm duck hunting next weekend!

Yeah get out there and kill some birds. As far as I'm concerned my season just started the smaller stuff if freezing up and the ducks are starting to pile in on the lake so if it's like years past it will be a limit everyday. Granted the lake doesn't freeze up over here if that happens my season is basically over. It's suppose to be like 8 degrees tonight with light and variable winds so I'm crossing ym fingers. We'll see what the morning brings though.

I went out this morning and it didn't produce much execpt for one duck but none the less a fun morning, hopfully I'll go out tommorow morning, we'll see. I have the same frezzing problem that you have jlb66, some of my spots are getting ice on the edges. The geese were no shows, nearly all of them have moved on to the privet land.
