Default Is it worth it?

Is it really worth getting a ported choke for steel loads, or will my remington 870 factory modified choke be just as good.

also if it is worth it could someone advise me on a good choke to buy.

I'm not gonna give you any earth shattering news here but I would say that if you like your gun your only doing yourself a favor by getting a better choke tube

I shoot patternmasters lots of quality options out there though

It's probably not worth it. RemChokes pattern better than any other factory choke out there. If any thing just get you a factory I/C and put in there. That's what I have in my boy's 870 and it kills good out to 45 yds. shooting Fasteel 3" 1 1/8 oz. #2's.
